Sex offender forced to relocate
A convicted paedophile was named as living in Park Lane, Teddington in an article published in the Richmond and Twickenham Times.
Derek Hawkes, 47, served 4 years in prison for his offence from 2000-2004. As part of his bail conditions was told to not to associate with any other registered sex offenders. He was spotted by a police officer with another known offender and was arrested soon afterwards then released awaiting a court date.
Leading up this day however copies of the article were posted on lamp-posts around the area with his home address written across the top. Police were posted in the area and after a week he had moved to a location elsewhere.
