High Street jams

High street traffic tail-backs continue as the main railway bridge repair works reduce the crossing down to one lane using traffic lights.

Some of the final tasks to restore the roundabout and new & improved zebra crossing look like they are nearing completion, but for now you might be best to avoid the area with your car especially around lunch time.

At peak lunchtime hours the traffic is backed-up almost the entire length of the High Street.

Also roadworks are about to begin on traffic-calming measures along the length of Queens Road on the 18th of May so beware of tail-backs there too.

[Update 13th May] Bridge roadworks are complete.
