Security van robbed in broad daylight

NewsA security van was robbed today just before 11am outside Natwest on the High Street.

The circumstances at first seemed similar to an armed robbery which happened two years ago on this corner where the raiders made escape along Station Road by car. Police have now confirmed that no fire-arms or violence were used, it was a “snatch-and-run” raid where two men grabbed a money box from the security guard as he passed them in the foyer. They were last seen fleeing the scene along Station Road. No details have yet been released about exactly how much money was stolen.

Another security van robbery happened only a few months ago outside a branch of Natwest in Twickenham.

Obviously any witnesses should come forward to the Police if they have any information.

[Update 10th July] Some more details from Richmond and Twickenham Times.
