Water shortage due to pump failure

NewsReports are coming in of water problems in the area – an increasingly common problem in West London of late.

Water pressure is almost non-existent in some areas in Teddington itself and also in Kingston, Twickenham, Hampton Wick and Hampton. This time the problem has been created by an electrical fault causing a pump failure at the main southwest London waterworks.

ThamesWater have posted a brief note on the situation:
“Really sorry to customers with no water in W, TW and KT post codes. When we know more we will give time frames for when water back.”

They are also asking for customers outside of these postcodes if they are also affected.

[Update 23:45] water seems to be restored to most of the Teddington area. ThamesWater update: “Customers in TW, W & KT postcodes-pumps now back on. Pressure & Water shld be returning but may take a couple of hours. Pls let us know.
