Station Cycle Hub

Teddington’s brand new cycle hub is now open! The new rectangular structure on former derelict ground by the main entrance to the station on Victoria Road is now home to a 128 cycle spaces. The cycle hub is completely open so no passcards are required to access allowing free movement 24 hours a day. CCTV cameras are installed to provide security, bike maintenance facilities to help keep you on the move and a handy weather and live departures screen to remind you just how late your train is going to be.

When Teddington Town visited there were plenty of cycling spaces available and hopefully it won’t get filled up with too many permanent bikes that never seem to move; so that families and commuters can use the new cycle hub. Although some question just how secure the hub really is, with free access to anyone; hopefully the CCTV will deter bike thieves. Bike theft is is still a problem in Teddington particularly towards Hampton Wick but also in more obvious ‘busy’ areas such as the High St so keep your bike locked securely to deter thieves!
