Teddington RFC supports proposed Quantum renovation of Udney Park playing fields

downloadTeddington RFC have backed proposed plans to use the former Imperial Medics site for long-term community use and have outlined their position to work with Quantum, the new owners of the site.

The plans will see the site open more to the public with sports pitches, a clubhouse and other recreational facilities. In the North side of the field, they have proposed to build an elderly care community with other health care facilities.

The directors of Teddington RFC, Gareth Cross and Simon Cartmell, said: “We have been working hard with Quantum, TAFC, and other sports and community organisations, to influence the future and design of the community sports facilities.

“We are pleased to say that we believe we have established a path forward which is beneficial for Teddington RFC and the community as a whole.”

Quantum, who proposed these plans, said: “To make the most of the sporting and recreational opportunities the site presents for the community, we intend to invest significantly in the development of new sport and recreation facilities, provide a structure for the in-perpetuity operation and maintenance of the land and gift this to the community.

There is an ongoing consultation process for the fate of the site which can be found here.
