Roads and Transport Police officers are carrying out investigations after a woman was pronounced dead on the scene of a collision on Kingston Road.
Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at around 11pm last night after a car collided with a pedestrian.
The officers attended the scene and administered life support to the woman, who has not been named, until the arrival of the London Ambulance Service and the medical staff.
The woman’s next of kin have been formed but the authorities are awaiting a formal identification.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene but was not arrested – the Serious Collision Investigation Unit is carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of the incident.
