Teddington businessman given suspended jail sentance and fine for hiding earnings from taxman

A businessman from Teddington who ran multiple property companies while failing to describe his income has been given a two year suspended jail sentence. 

Michael Waddingham, 44, is a property developer and landlord was also fined £200,000 along with the “281,000 tax that he had to repay.

Waddingham also failed to notify the taxman that he was a company director of two companies and failed to submit any self assessment tax returns to HRMC between 2008 and 2012.

He was sentenced on Friday March 10th at Kingston Crown Court.

An HMRC investigation found that he failed to declare rental income, had been a director of seven companies and had an income above £100,000.
