Teddington police issue warning as they expect car break-ins to rise

Teddington Police have warned residents to be extra vigilant over the festive period as the spate of car break-ins continue.

They have advised residents to be extra careful and told them not to leave any valuables on display inside their cars.

A police spokesman said: “We advise drivers to take any Christmas presents in to your home and please do not leave them in your car.

“A little crime prevention can go a long way.

“After locking your car try the door handle to make sure it’s locked.”

The police also advise removable music systems along with parking in public car parks that are part of the police approved ‘Park Mark’ Safer Parking Scheme.

If you see a crime in progress ring 999, or 101 for suspicious behaviour.
