Idris has been a Barber since 1989. He started in Paris where he learned the skill of barbering. He then moved to London in 1994 and worked mainly in Great Titchfield street central London and Richmond.

Idris decided to open his own salon, and in June 2003, he took over the shop at 11 Church Road Teddington from Dave. The shop has been trading as a Barbers for more than 50 years.

In January 2015 the shop was completely refurbished to a high standard and named DAPPER.

The name Dapper was chosen from an old dictionary:

adjective (only ever used with reference to men, neat, nice, smart, trim, stylish, spruce, dainty, natty (informal), well-groomed, well turned out, trig (archaic or dialect), soigné a small, dapper man in his early fifties
sloppy.  lively and brisk: to walk with a dapper step.
