Comedy lovers are in for a treat with this weekend-long series of comedy double bills of Edinburgh preview shows at The Anglers, Teddington.

RICHARD TODD WORK IN PROGRESS

“How much happier the man who believes his native town to be the world than he who aspires to be greater than his nature will allow.” so said Dr Frankenstein, to himself, in his head, after making a botch job of building a man. Richard concurs. A master of menial tasks, it is a tragedy that he ever meddled with ambition. But now it’s alive and he must appease it. Fresh from the bath, flibbertigibbet Richard Todd blurts out an Edinburgh debut no greater than his nature allows.
“An inventive comic thinker” – CHORTLE

JULIET MEYERS – THIS FLIPPING RESCUE DOG HAS RUINED MY LIFE
Juliet and her dog have issues. A show about unconditional love, anxiety, peeing on things and being a goddamn wolf.

Juliet Meyers and her Portuguese rescue dog have issues. This is a show about unconditional love, anxiety, peeing on things and being a goddamn wolf.
It contains stand-up, stories, a bit of tenderness (mostly caused by bruising when the dog chased a squirrel), a dash of belligerence and possibly the actual dog in the room as he doesn’t like being left.
“Devilish…on the edge” **** SCOTSMAN
“Laugh-out-loud show that resonates” **** – CHORTLE
“Quirky and original”****- BROADWAY BABY
“Smart and very funny” – INDEPENDENT.

THE BEARDED WOMEN – BOTHERATION
After a successful Camden Fringe run in 2014, The Bearded Women return with a new show.
Roll up, roll up! Have you ever felt like part of the sideshow in the circus of life? Not sure how to seem like a proper grownup? Dan Green, Steph Peart & Andrew West know exactly how you feel. They are muddling through a confusing world as best they can and trying to seem like proper, responsible grownups. Life, however, is much more complicated and baffling than it appears.
This show doesn’t have all the answers (or even some of the answers, if we’re honest) but it does have jokes, stories and patchy stubble.

“A fun hour of classic standup comedy with moments of real excellence.” – Everything Theatre

“Fabulous material beautifully delivered. Expect the unexpected.” – Creative Cows

“Charming and laid back…priceless.” South London Review
