Landmark Stories is a brand new festival of spoken word, comedy, storytelling, music and art workshops for children. The festival kicks off with Stand Up and Slam!, where three comedians go head to head with three poets and the audience decides the winner. Followed by a schools events with Giles Abbott on Friday lunchtime (still spaces, free event for Year 6 and KS3), open mic on Saturday morning with Surrey Storytellers and Catherine Paver and Memories of an Indian Childhood with Sita Brand on Saturday afternoon. Friday night features Apples & Snakes poets Zena Edwards and Francesca Beard while on Saturday night Laurence Owen and Luke Wright take to the stage. On Sunday morning there are three storytelling sessions with Vanessa Woolf, followed by a related art workshop with Jane Hudspith – book via website, £3 per session, age four upwards.
