ATTACK VICTIM AT TEDDINGTON PUB RECEIVED FACIAL INJURIES
Police investigating the incident outside the Castlebar pub on High Street, Teddington have now confirmed that the victim suffered serious facial injuries.
Unconfirmed reports claim he suffered a broken jaw and was taken to hospital although his injuries are described as ‘not serious.’
In an update statement the police say ‘the male was assaulted by another person at the pub where he was socialising.’
There has been no arrest, police say.
The pub had was cordoned off by police tape early yesterday morning (monday) following the incident in the early hours of Monday morning.
An earlier police statement said: “On Monday 15th July 2024 at 0041hrs, police were called to reports of an assault on Teddington High Street.
”A crime scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this stage.”
Forensic officers were on the scene collecting evidence from outside the pub.
Entry to Wades Lane nearby was blocked apart from access and uniformed police officers were guarding the front of the pub.
By mid-afternoon, the distinctive blue and white crime scene tape had been removed and the police presence had disappeared.
An worker at the pub said the Castle Bar would remain closed while discussions with the police continued but she said the incident took place ‘outside’ of the pub not inside.
The pub was packed for the screening of the Euros Final between England and Spain in Berlin which England lost 2-1.
The pub has now reopened.
