These are the first amazing images of the new cricket club pavilion following the devastating blaze at Hampton Wick Royal cricket club last September.

Plans for the two storey timber building have now been submitted to Richmond Council and if the go ahead is given it is hoped work will start in September and take a year to complete, with an estimated cost of £2million.

The new-look club will have a viewing terrace at the first floor level and parking for cycling and 53 cars. The architects have submitted 29 drawings for the Council’s consideration and provided detailed reports of ecological issues, flood risk and landscaping plans.

The historic pavilion was burned down in a mystery blaze in September last year and police are investigating arson.

The Club now needs to step its fundraising efforts.

In the meantime temporary portakabins and a large marquee have been erected on the sites to allow summer cricket to continue.
