TRAVELLERS RETURN TO HAM COMMON
Richmond Council issued the following statement after confirmed reports that travellers had returned to set up camp on Ham Common.
The statement said: “We are aware that a group of travellers has arrived on Ham Common.
“A High Court injunction is in place which restricts unauthorised encampments on this site.
“Welfare checks have been carried out and we have started the legal process to ensure the group moves on in line with the injunction as soon as possible.”
Over recent years the Council has been forced to take legal action to remove illegal camps from Ham Common resulting in hefty bills to clear up afterwards.
