TEDDINGTON STATION LIFTS OUT OF ORDER AGAIN TODAY

Teddington station lifts were out of order again today causing anger and frustration for many passengers.

Both lifts on the Platform One side on Victoria Road and Platform Two on Station Road showed ‘out of service’ signs at midday.

One grandmother who was taking her grandson for a walk hoping to use the lift and bridge as a shortcut instead had to walk all the way around.

Another elderly woman approached the lift on Platform Two only to see it was out of service as temperatures soared locally to 23 degrees.

Workmen at the scene told Teddington Town it was a case of ‘updating software’ and they had only started the work after the rush-hour at 9.30am.

The lifts were officially opened on Friday May 23rd in the presence of local MP Munira Wilson, the new Mayor of Richmond and other guests in a high-profile ribbon-cutting ceremony at the station.

Teddington Town has requested a response from Network Rail.
