THE STUNNING WOODLAND SUITE AT TEDDINGTON MEMORIAL SUITE PREPARES TO OPEN

Teddington Memorial Hospital today shared a new update from a recent on-site visit to the new state-of-the-art Woodland Suite Outpatients Pain Clinic.
Support from the League of Friends of Teddington Memorial Hospital is helping to fund this vital project.
The Friends’ funding support is designed to elevate the project significantly above the NHS baseline interior design and comfort standards, benefiting patients and staff through improved well-being, say the hospital.
As the clinic nears completion, the development is approaching £2.5 million, reflecting a community vision to create a new clinical space and calming, patient-focused environment.

Here are some highlights of what’s to come:
Gardens to heal and inspire
Two garden areas are being transformed into tranquil, therapeutic spaces. One located behind the Pamela Bryant Ward will become a beautiful sensory garden featuring a new water feature. The Friends may fund additional planting and aesthetic improvements.
The second, the Memorial Garden, will be restored with new paving, planting, and revarnished garden furniture. The Friends will also fund a new water feature in the space, reinforcing our commitment to creating areas of peace and reflection.
Art and atmosphere
Artwork submitted through our community’s children’s art competition will take pride of place at The Woodland Suite.
Welcoming spaces
The main reception area will benefit from the addition of a tea and coffee machine, a small but meaningful touch to ensure visitors feel comfortable and cared for.

While NHS funding has covered the iced water unit, The Friends will look to support the refreshment facilities.
Beyond budgets
NHS funding will be exceeded, so The Friends has committed to covering the additional costs to bring these plans to life.
From additional garden planting this autumn to furniture restoration and garden maintenance, as well as offering hot refreshments and investing in interior design and comfort, the hospital says it is ‘proud’ to be stepping up where needed.

What’s next
The Woodland Suite is scheduled for handover in mid-June and will begin seeing patients from July 1st.
A spokesperson said: “This project is an excellent example of what we can achieve together. The Woodland Suite promises to be a vital facility for patients, families and staff, and your continued support is helping us make it exceptional.”
