TEDDINGTON POST OFFICE HIT BY NATIONAL POWER FAILURE

Teddington Post Office was closed this afternoon as part of a technical issue affecting hundreds of Post Offices all over the country.
A hand-written sign on the door of the High Street Post Office said ‘Post Officer server down.”
Hundreds of Post Office and Royal Mail users have reported outages with the service which has affected parcel deliveries. A spokesperson said it was ‘not cyber related.’
According to DownDetector, there have been issues reported since lunchtime, with more than 600 reports since 1.30pm. Worst hit were London, Manchester and Birmingham.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “We are aware that there is a major outage across the Post Office estate.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are working hard to restore service as soon as possible.
“This is not a cyber-related issue. We are aware of what has caused this outage and the earliest that Post Office services will resume is at 4pm today.”
Users were quick to turn to other social media platforms to complain about the outages.
One complained: “When are your systems going to be back up? Can’t even do DPD drop off.”
Another frustrated customer asked: “What (is) up with systems? Been waiting to send letter special delivery and they are saying systems down.”
In a response on X, the Post Office said: “We’re not able to advise a timeframe at this time, we’re looking to get the issues resolved ASAP. I can only apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
