PHOTO EXCLUSIVE ON DRAGON BOAT RACING AT CANBURY GARDENS
Thousands of people lined the riverside at Canbury Gardens today to share the excitement of the annual Dragon Boat racing competition as well as a funfair and food stalls.
Hundreds of rowers joined their teams to take part in the short sprint along the stretch of the river near the pub, The Boaters.
The rowers fought to maintain their rowing rhythm as each cox beat out at steady drumbeat at the dragon shaped bow of the boats.
There were cultural performances including Chinese-themed music and dance and martial arts exhibition performances.
There was a small funfair as well as stalls selling pizzas and bagels and sweets and cady floss as well as gazebos showcasing various charities.
