FIRST GLIMPSE OF TED LASSO’S WOMEN’S AFC RICHMOND TEAM

Six young British actors will play members of AFC Richmond’s second division women’s football team when the award-winning Apple TV series TED LASSO returns to film in west London, Teddington Town can exclusively reveal.
They are Tanya Reynolds, Faye Marsay, Abbie Hern, Jude Mack, Rex Hayes and Aisling Sharkey, who will begin filming the British segments of Series Four later this summer.
Ted Lasso was nominated for 61 Emmy Awards during its run, winning 13 including back to back wins in the best comedy series category, as well as consecutive wins for writer, creator and actor Jason Sudeikis and British actor Brett Goldstein.
However, Gus Turner, who played Sudeikis’s on-screen son, Henry, will not be returning. He is replaced by child actor Grant Feely aged 13 (Obi-Wan Kenobi) who is expected to show off his natural football skills in the new series.
An official bulletin in the US said: “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”

Pontypridd-born Abbie Hern, aged 28, appeared in the sixth series of Peaky Blinders as Mary Bine and Princess Bess based on Elizabeth 1 in the Amazon Prime fantasy series My Lady Jane. She also played Tish in The Pact.

Faye Marsey, 38, is a mad keen football fan from Middlesbrough and supports her local club as well as being a big fan of Premier League football too. She has a distinguished theatre career and appeared in The White Queen and the successful TV series Adolescence with Stephen Graham.

Tanya Reynolds, aged 33, from Hemel Hempstead, landed her first major role as a series regular on the Sky 1 comedy-drama Delicious and portrayed Lily Iglehart in the Netflix comedy-drama Sex Education where she was a part of the main cast in the first three seasons. She has also appeared in Outlander and Death in Paradise.

Jude Mack is an actor, writer and director who made a cameo appearance in one previous Ted Lasso episode. She has also appeared in Such Brave Girls, Back in Action and Prime Target. She lists football as one of her interests. She also appeared in The Capture and Playing Nice.
She recently appeared in the latest Tom Cruise Mission Impossible film which also starred Hannah Waddingham who will return for Series Four alongside other Brit actors Jeremy Swift ( Higgins) Brett Goldstein, (Roy Kent) Juno Temple (Keeley Jones)

Rex Hayes is a fluent Welsh speaker and has a wide range of experience in the West End theatre as well as appearing in several BAFTA winning TV series.

Aisling Sharkey, aged 24, was born in Kildare in Ireland and trained as an opera singer and a dancer. She also appeared in one episode of Ted Lasso in 2020 and starredin Jurassic Park: Dominion. She once appeared in a dog food commercial and she also plays the ukulele and guitar.
While Richmond and west London may have to wait a few months for the Ted Lasso circus to move into town, the starting of filming in Kansas is already creating waves of excitement and expectation in the US.

Ted Lasso season 4 gets the update we’ve been waiting for
On July 21, 2025, Apple TV+ revealed that Ted Lasso season 4 has begun filming in Kansas City, Missouri, and additional filming dates will follow in London later this year. It’s unclear how long filming will take place, though it’s expected to continue for at least through the rest of summer and into fall. Apple TV+ also hasn’t revealed when to expect season 4, but who will appear is now confirmed.

The first-look photo and Apple TV+’s announcement that season 4 has started filming also confirms the return of multiple cast members. While Sudeikis was previously confirmed to be reprising his role as the title character, the streamer has now confirmed the returns of Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift in their roles as well.
The outlet shared the synopsis for season 4, which teases a new beginning for Ted: “Ted (Sudeikis) returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for Ted Lassoto be back for three more seasons, but for now, we have season 4 in the works and on the horizon! Hopefully, Apple TV+ and the cast will share more behind-the-scenes looks at the new season while it’s in production. A release date is a long while away still, though we can surely expect Ted Lasso season 4 to premiere sometime in 2026.
