TEDDINGTON’S MUCH-LOVED HEIRLOOM TO CLOSE DOWN
One of Teddington High Street’s favourite independent shops, HEIRLOOM is to close next month, Teddington Town has learned.
The small retailer, which stocks homeware and gifts, opposite Marks & Spencer provides a regular lifeline for last minute birthday and anniversary purchases offering a wide selection of customised cards as well as perfumes and small and unusual knick knacks.
Today a large shop window poster was offering a 30% discount in a closing down sale while a separate sign explained the shock closure in early August.
The bright yellow sign states: “After 18 amazing years, Heirloom will be closing early August.
”It’s been a really difficult decision to make but 2025 has become a year of change – children going to university, family bereavements, starting a post graduate degree and with a natural break in the shop lease, the time feels right to step away.
“A very big thank you to you our wonderful customers for every visit you have made, every item you have bought and every chat that we have shared.
”A special thank you to the incredible Heirloom team, past and present – especially to Elaine for her commitment and support that she’s given to Heirloom over the past 6 years.
”Much Love, Shelley xx
Owner of Heirloom”
