TEDDINGTON’S MIGHTY CONVOY COMPLETES SIXTEENTH MISSION

The Teddington-based not-for-profit humanitarian aid group MIGHTY CONVOY has just returned from its SIXTEENTH mission to deliver much-needed supplies to Ukraine.
Their latest trip means they have delivered THIRTY SEVEN ambulances and pick up trucks and a total of SEVENTY vehicles altogether including 4×4’s which have been able to handle the difficult terrain and two refrigerated lorries donated by Iceland.
Over the last two missions Mighty Convoy has formed strong links with schools in the Lviv area of Ukraine and identified a need for musical instruments which has been the focus of the most recent appeals.
Organiser Simon Brake, who lives in Teddington, said: “Luckily we have made relationships with schools in Lviv who are trying to rebuild their music offerings with refurbished music rooms, concert halls and more musical instruments.
“So far we have delivered about 25 violins, 8 guitars, some banjos and ukuleles, an electric piano and a keyboard.”
Mighty Convoy is a non-profit founded by three friends to raise funds to buy second-hand ambulances and 4×4 pick-up trucks, fill them with aid and drive them to Ukraine.
“The vehicles and the aid we are taking are urgently needed and incredibly valuable to the medical teams on the ground.
“Working in partnership with the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) and their sister organisation, the Christian Medical Association Ukraine (CMAU) our new ICMDA Convoy campaign will deliver ambulances full of medical aid and lorry loads of vital supplies to where it is most needed in Ukraine.
