KING HENRY VIII’S GAFF GETS A FACELIFT……
The entire front of the historic home of Henry VIII’s at Hampton Court Palace is covered in scaffolding requiring the closure of the main entrance to the famous courtyards.
The Palace and the gardens and the Magic Garden remain open.
A spokesperson for Historic Royal Palaces told Teddington Town: “We are carrying out essential conservation work to the Great Gatehouse at Hampton Court Palace.
“These works include repairs to the western oriel window, reroofing with new lead, stonework and masonry repairs, and repointing and rebuilding parapets.
“The work is likely to take place until Spring 2026.”
The spokesperson added: “Historic Royal Palaces is a charity, and we exist to give buildings like Hampton Court Palace the care they deserve, so that they can be preserved for future generations.”
