The much-rumoured return of Apple TV+ award-winning TV series Ted Lasso filming in Richmond is already proving an economic boom for the town.

The pub on The Green, The Prince’s Head, which appears in the show as The Crown & Anchor was rammed with customers today, many taking snaps of the AFC Richmond scarf behind the bar.

Visitors from all over the world posed for photos outside the famous twin bright red phone boxes in front of the pub and Ted’s fictional front door in Paved Court where many scenes in the first three series were filmed.

Excitement has  increased dramatically since the reported ‘wrapping’ of the first part of the filming of the new Series Four in Kansas City which has featured British actors Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple.

The Official Ted Lasso store in Paved Court was jam-packed with customers at 6pm but there was no sign, as yet, of an AFC Richmond’s women’s kit following storyline leaks of Ted returning to manage a women’s football team in London in the new series.

The triumphant victory of England’s Lionesses in the European Championships could not be better timed for Ted Lasso Series Four amid speculation of cameo roles for members  of the team and the manager Sarina Wiegman.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that filming in London may return in ‘late summer’ and if that is the case much of the filming will be done at West London Studios and Hayes & Yeading football club.

One local retailer told Teddington Town: “It’s the question everyone’s asking, whether Ted is returning to Richmond and, if so, when? We’ve got visitors from all over the world who are interested so we are just hoping it happens.”
