PROLIFIC SHOPLIFTER NICKED NEAR TESCO’S, TEDDINGTON
A prolific shoplifter was arrested yesterday near Teddington’s Tesco car park, police revealed today.
The arrest was made by officers from the Safe Neighbourhood Team (SNT) after a tip off from local residents.
Police say he had stolen items worth £180 from two shops. The goods were returned to the two shops.
According to police the suspect remains in custody
A spokesperson said: “Many thanks to local residents who made initial call for us. We will not tolerate any crime in our wards.”
The arrest comes in a week when the issue of increased levels of shoplifting and its cost to the retail business has been in the headlines.
