EXCLUSIVE: STADIUM GETS TED LASSO MAKEOVER FOR SERIES FOUR
The local football club which is used for filming training sessions in the award-winning Apple TV+ Ted Lasso series has now been rebranded as AFC Richmond as filming of Series Four starts in west London before moving to Richmond Green.
The Hayes & Yeading stadium is just a stone’s throw from the west London studios where key members of the cast including creator and actor Jason Sudeikis were reunited last week to start production.
AFC Richmond’s famous Latin motto Gradarius Firmus Victoria – which means ‘slow and steady to victory’ – could be seen clearly on the stand as well as banners saying ‘We Are Richmond.’
The famous AFC Richmond Diamond Dog symbol could be seen clearly over the players’ tunnel between the lower seating sections.
The new series reportedly will see Ted coaching a Second Division Women’s Team in London with several British cast members reappearing including Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift.
The cast and crew set up camp in west London after four weeks of filming in Kansas where Ted ended up at the end of Series Three to be reunited with his family.
US reports suggest the new series will not be on air on Apple TV + until April/May next year but it may be the first of THREE new series taking the show up until 2030.
The show has brought a significant tourist boom to Richmond and other local filming locations triggering a Ted Lasso Walking Tour and a merchandise shop as well as fantastic business for The Prince’s Head pub which appears frequently in the show as The Crown & Anchor.
