PHOTOGRAPHER’S FIRST VISIT TO BUSHY PARK IS MEMORABLE

Keen photographer Arie van der Wijst could not believe his luck on his first ever visit to Bushy Park.
He spent most of the day from 11am until 5.30pm in the park and was rewarded with a fantastic collection of stunning and rare images of kestrels and a kingfisher taken with his Panasonic Lumix G9II and an Olympus 300mm lens with a 1.4 Teleconverter.
Dutch-born Arie, 66, told Teddington Town:”Years ago I did a lot of photography, mostly black and white and I had my own darkroom.
“I abandoned it for quite some time but picked it up a few years ago. It’s digital all now, so a steep learning curve for me but I loved it.
“I bought a bridge camera at first but a year later my current, a much more professional one and I haven’t regretted it once.
“I live in Tooting so I go to Richmond Park a lot, but saw great photos on the Bushy Park Facebook page, so that’s why I tried my luck there…I’m so glad I did! “
