BUSHY PARKRUN CANCELLED TOMORROW
The usual Saturday morning 9am ParkRun in Bushy Park tomorrow is cancelled because of the weather, it was announced tonight (Friday)
Storm Amy is due to strike many parts of the UK with schools in Northern Ireland already closing as a precaution.
The safety of both Bushy and Richmond Parks will be reviewed early tomorrow before a decision on opening is made.
A spokesperson said: “Due to severe wind gusts forecast, we may need to close the parks tomorrow, Saturday 4 October.
“This is in line with our Tree Safety Policy and Emergency Plan relating to high winds.
“All the Royal Parks, Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens will be subject to a review on Saturday 4 October and details of any closures or delayed openings will be found on this page at 6am.
“All gated parks will be locked tonight as usual; in addition, we will lock pedestrian gates at Richmond Park and Bushy Park.
“A number of areas including Victoria Tower Gardens, playgrounds, woodlands and gardens will be closed on Saturday 4 October.
“The safety of visitors and staff is our top priority.”
