Exclusive: NEW CHARITY INITIATIVE WILL CHAMPION LOCAL GOOD CAUSES

A new local charity called OneRichmond is being set up to drive positive change in the community and better support and champion local causes, it was announced today (Friday)

OneRichmond’s new Development Board is made up of inspiring local leaders who are keen to create positive change in their community.

OneRichmond is a place-based giving charity that encourages Richmond residents to support their local community by championing local causes.

They are working to tackle social isolation in the borough, and are calling upon passionate local business owners, professionals, and philanthropists to make this happen.

The charity was set up by the Richmond Foundation, Hampton Fund, and City Bridge Foundation to engage local people and address increasing levels of need in our borough.

The new Development Board met for the first time on Thursday, setting an ambitious fundraising target of £250,000, which will be used to support local grassroots charities.

They will now be working with OneRichmond to deliver on this target and support our shared vision of a Richmond community for all.

“I am a very proud and grateful Richmond resident and embrace the opportunity to do something to support and help fellow residents,” says Ritu Muhandru, one of the Board’s founding members.

Throughout the coming year, the Development Board will partake in key events, develop exciting new fundraising initiatives, and work with local charities to provide much needed support to vulnerable people and neglected causes within the borough.

One of these key events will be a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style fundraiser in Spring 2026, giving charities the opportunity to pitch in front of key funders and demonstrate the importance of their work.

OneRichmond are currently inviting local individuals to join their mission towards a fairer and more resilient Richmond.

* Teddington Town contributor Stuart Higgins is delighted to be on the board of this exciting new initiative.
