TWENTY TWO YEAR OLD RUNS 80kms TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE RNLI

Twenty two year Will Robinson sets off tomorrow (Sunday) on a 80kms (50 miles) ultra-marathon to raise funds for the RNLI.

Will, from Walton on Thames, starts at Gravesend RNLI then heads to London Embankment RNLI station, Chiswick RNLI and finishing at Teddington RNLI station near The Wharf restaurant.

Will told Teddington Town; “I’ve been passionate about running for a while, and I’ve been going down to the sea since I can remember — I always noticed the lifeboats there and had a deep respect for the crews going out to save lives, risking their own in the process.

“Even back then, I knew the RNLI wasn’t just about boats—it was about people willing to risk everything to save others. This run is my way of giving back.

“It’s not a race, but a personal commitment—and I’m determined to complete it.

“Watching Saving Lives at Sea really made me realise how dangerous the water can be and how incredible the RNLI volunteers are.

“Most of them give up their own time to save others — that really stuck with me.

“My dad has also been helping out with the RNLI charity for the last three years, which has been a huge inspiration.

“Running 80 kilometres is my way of giving something back and showing respect for the people who risk their lives to keep us safe.

“I don’t think people always realise how much the RNLI does — they’re constantly out there, whether it’s the sea or the river, watching over us.

“The river is at the heart of London, and the RNLI is always there, watching over it.

“If this run helps raise even a bit of awareness or support for them, then it’s completely worth it.”
