TEDDINGTON STATION LIFTS STILL OUT OF SERVICE

The two lifts serving Teddington station were still out of service all weekend despite Teddington Town‘s first report last Tuesday and South Western Railway’s claim that “we are working as quickly as possibly to fix the issue.”
The lifts became operational in March this year after a series of delays and were formally opened with plenty of civic fanfare in a ceremony attended by local Lib Dem MP Munira Wilson on May 23 but have been plagued by problems.
The station is particularly busy at weekends with travellers carrying suitcases, passengers with mobility problems and families with buggies and prams who have to make the long diversion walk around from Station Road to Victoria Road or struggle up the steps.
The same signs were visible outside the station today (sunday) at 11am with no sign of repair work being carried out.
Teddington Town has asked South Western Railway for a comment and when passengers can expect the lifts to be back in service.
