UPDATE: TEDDINGTON STATION LIFTS OUT OF SERVICE
A South Western Railway spokesperson told Teddington Town today: “Following the rebuild of the lifts, our engineers completed a software upgrade after a fault was found with this initial repair.
“During recent testing, the lifts have failed to operate at the required level for us to open them back up safely to the public.
“Engineers are currently completing extensive testing on both lifts, I am very sorry for the continued disruption for both residents and passengers at Teddington station.”
The lifts have been out of service since September 11 after a person became trapped in one of the lifts and engineers caused significant damage in efforts to release the person.

The lifts were finally opened in May with big fanfare and railway VIPs in attendance as well as the Mayor and local MP Munira Wilson.
