HAMPTON COURT PALACE IS TURNED INTO HAUNTED HOUSE FOR HALLOWEEN

PHOTO SPECIAL

Hampton Court Palace has been transformed into a spooky haunted house, full of pumpkins and the ghosts of historic figures to mark Halloween.

Thousands of visitors – mostly families – turned up at the Palace today to see the ghostly goings-on accompanied by scary music and shadowy images behind windows.

Many of the children wore Halloween costumes as they explored the palace and bumped into the ghosts of Henry V111, Charles 1, Queen Victoria, composer George Handel and Michael Faraday.

The spooky spell lasts until November 2.

For the Halloween at Hampton Court Palace event period only (25 October to 02 November) spooky Halloween costumes can be worn by all visitors during their visit.

However, masks are not allowed, and costumes must be free of any loose glitter for conservation reasons.

Discover Henry VIII‘s notoriously haunted palace this Halloween, the spookiest time of the year at Hampton Court Palace.

This October half term, lose yourself in atmospheric projections and creepy sound effects as the palace and gardens are transformed by magical spells.

See if you can brave the eerie new outdoor trail and keep your eyes peeled for restless spirits who might be roaming the grounds.

As you tiptoe through the winding corridors and around the palace gardens, you’ll feel the chilling presence of infamous ghosts hiding around every corner.

Maybe you’ll spot the ghost of Oliver Cromwell or even Henry VIII.

After all that exploring, listen to a spine-tingling story at storytelling sessions before relaxing away from the ghouls with a Halloween-themed treat from the café.

Don’t miss a spooky day out you’ll remember forever.

See full details at www.hrp.org.uk for tickets and opening times.
