SKATE INTO CHRISTMAS AT HAMPTON COURT PALACE
Building of the traditional Xmas ice rink at Hampton Court Palace is well underway in readiness for next Friday’s grand opening day.
The rink itself is at the front of the Palace with a massive temporary construction where skates can be collected and a coffee shop will operate.
Visitors will also see the amazing ‘wrap’ covering the Great Gatehouse of the Palace while urgent restoration work is carried out.

“This beloved seasonal tradition opens from 21st November 2025, until January 4th 2026. Alongside fewer skaters for a more intimate experience – we are enhancing the traditions of Hampton Court Palace Ice Rinkand taking years of a traditional London winter staple into a whole new atmosphere.
“With a double layered ice design for smoother longer-lasting skate sessions, fresh and updated lace-up skates for comfort, every detail is crafted for the perfect winter skate.”

Operating hours 10am–9pm (last skate 8pm).
Sessions available
10am session: Our ‘Quiet & Calm’ skate sessions have reduced capacity, static lights and quieter and calmer music than regular sessions. Ideal for anyone with disabilities and parents and toddlers.
Off Peak: Our lower capacity sessions. A good time to beat the crowd.
Peak: Our busier time periods. Our evening sessions and school holidays.
Adult (13+ Years)
Student
Available any sessions Mon/Tues/Weds/Thurs up until Thurs 18th December Student ID is required during the booking process, and presented at the check-in on the day.
Child (3–12 Years)
Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult (18+) on the rink; adults and children must have tickets. One adult can supervise up to five children.
Family Ticket
This ticket allows entry for four people: either 1 adult and 3 children or 2 adults and 2 children. Onsite staff may refuse entry if the ticket is used for the wrong number or ages of people. Children must be at least 3 years old to skate, and those aged 3 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult over 18 on the ice at all times.
Wheelchair Users
We welcome wheelchair users on any sessions, any time.
- We recommend attending quieter sessions for a more enjoyable experience (quieter sessions are weekdays before 3pm).
- A carer who is comfortable on the ice must accompany wheelchair users, don’t forget to add a free carer ticket to your order along with your wheelchair ticket.
- Carer – £0.00
- Free entry is available for one carer per skater to support a paying visitor with a disability. Proof of disability is required during the booking process. The carer must stay with the skater on the ice.

Adult-only skate session:
Every second Friday of the season, Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink opens its doors for a special adult-only evening skate. Glide across the ice, then linger over mulled wine, hot toddies, or themed cocktails in the glow of the palace lights. A festive experience made for adults who want something a little extra this winter.
