POLICE USE FACIAL RECOGNITION IN RICHMOND TO MAKE FOUR ARRESTS

Four people were arrested in major deployment of live facial recognition in Richmond town centre, police have revealed.
The cutting-edge technology is used to help identify individuals wanted for serious offences and to keep the community safe. The operation was carried out by the Richmond Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) with the Met police’s specialist resources.
Police made four arrests. Three were wanted for outstanding offences and failing to appear in court and one was arrested for an assault which happened at Richmond station during the police operation.
