  Tribute to Stuart Sandys, 1973 – 2025

A new website ‘dedicated to the memory of Stu’ has been set up as a tribute to STUART SANDYS, owner of Sandys Fishmongers in Twickenham, who died unexpectedly last month.

It says: “This site is a tribute to Stuart William Sandys. Much loved son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and colleague.

A beloved figure in the Twickenham community and the heart and soul of Sandys Fishmongers. Stuart’s unwavering dedication to his business made it the success it is today and his hard work and passion also enriched the lives of everyone around him.

Stuart’s love for his craft and those he served will forever be remembered. Known for his generosity and kindness, Stuart treated everyone as family, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a warm smile.

His genuine warmth and respect for others made him a cherished member of the community, and his absence leaves a profound void in our hearts.

He was much more than a fishmonger; he was a friend, a mentor, and a beacon of positivity in Twickenham.

He is sadly missed but will always be much loved

FUNERAL DETAILS

A small private crematorium service for family and close friends will be held at Mortlake Crematorium on Monday 29th December 2025 at 12:40 pm.

We welcome everyone to attend a memorial service of thanksgiving, which will be held at St Mary’s Church, Twickenham on Monday 26th January 2026 at 12 noon.

“Parking is available in the York House and Flood Lane car parks (free on Sundays but subject to  2 hour limit at other times during the day).  Waitrose car park in Arragon Road is close by, and there is meter parking on surrounding roads.

It is advised to check parking restrictions as they can be subject to change. Also, the roads by the river regularly flood at high tide and the rise in water level can be rapid!!”

A charitable donation made in Stuart’s memory will be gratefully received by any of the family’s chosen charities, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK or Man Up? – men’s mental health charity.
