Park Lane Stables founder Natalie O’Rourke has been nominated as the Grassroots Sportswoman of the Year awards in the prestigious Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year.

She says: “We are so so excited about this nomination but it’s all down to the public.

“If you have a moment can you click through and vote for us. This could be a massive positive message for disability sport and the horse world.” https://times.formstack.com/forms/sundaytimessportswomenoftheyear2025

Meanwhile the stables managed to raise a whopping £91.000 (with Gift Aid) from the Big Give campaign.

Natalie said: “We did it! Huge thanks to everyone that engaged with our Big Give campaign. This money enables us to continue delivering sessions to those that need support and give our horses the best possible care.”

Her nomination states: “Now in their 38th year, the awards have led the way in recognising and celebrating the outstanding contribution made to sport by women at all levels, from elite to grassroots.

“The Grassroots Sportswoman of the Year category specifically celebrates the women breaking down barriers and bringing together their communities to find the joy in playing sport and getting active.”

“After a very thorough shortlisting process you have been selected for your hard work and efforts championing Park Lane Stables and for all of the extraordinary work that you do.”

Natalie made headlines around the world after leading a campaign to raise over £1m to save the well-known Teddington stables when they were threatened with closure.
