EXTRA POLICE PATROLS FOLLOWING TEDDINGTON INCIDENTS

Local police have promised extra police patrols following the shop theft in Teddington High Street and the mugging in Fairfax Road by a gang on bikes on Saturday,
A spokesperson told Teddington Town: “We will increase patrols in the area and try to stop, search and or arrest the individuals.
“The shopkeeper has been given crime prevention advice and will keep these products behind the counter in future.
“There was a similar incident 6 months ago so the shop and area is in no way targeted frequently and this is a very rare occurrence, it appears opportunistic.
“Obviously it is difficult to catch offenders operating in this way on high powered electric motorbikes.
“However we will increase both uniform and plain clothes patrols to try to catch the offenders.
“Residents will be aware that this kind of offending is very rare in Teddington but I can appreciate how this is upsetting to them.”
