MISSION NUMBER TWENTY TWO FOR TEDDINGTON’S MIGHTY CONVOY

The Teddington-based humanitarian organisation Mighty Convoy sets off for Ukraine this Wednesday on its 22nd mission.
Three ambulances and three pick-up trucks will start their long 1245 mile cross-country journey from Cambridge Road to Lviv in the west of Ukraine, 50 miles from the Polish border.
The latest mission will mark the amazing milestone of NINETY-FIVE vehicles being delivered to the war-torn nation and over 140 volunteer drivers supporting the effort.
The charity Goods For Good has donated sixty boxes of hoodies and the convoy will also be carrying 400 sleeping bags as well medical aid including crutches, wheelchairs, baby wipes, baby scales, baby clothes, baby cots and first aid kits.
The supplies and vehicles will be driven to a rendezvous point near Lviv where military and charity officials will decide how best to deploy them, possibly on the frontline or to support civilian casualties.
Simon told Teddington Town: “Ukraine may not be top of the news agenda at the moment but there is still a desperate need for our support and thankfully our efforts are still touching the hearts of those who want to help.”
