SUPPORT TEDDINGTON BEN’S MARATHON EFFORT FOR CANCER CHARITY

My Story:

Ben Nossiter, aged 28 who lives in Teddington and is fighting a rare kind of eye cancer called ocular melanoma. He completed The Great North to try raise money for charity and now plans the London Marathon on April 26th.

He tells Teddington Town: “Every day, 12 children and young people hear the devastating news that they have cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer helps families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them—but they can’t do it without support.

Following my own diagnosis at the end of 2024, coming to terms with the situation and dealing with it appropriately has been incredibly challenging at times, yet having the support there has made it far more bearable.

Although I’m a couple years too old for Young Lives vs Cancer, I fully understand the importance and value this charity provides in making such a difficult journey is made a little easier for those going through it.

By sponsoring me, your contribution will make a huge difference to the lives of children and young people with cancer.

“Most of you will be aware that Ben has faced a very challenging past 16 months, with multiple hospital visits, ongoing scans, a week of radiotherapy and a very recent invasive surgery looking to remove his cancer.

”Throughout his treatment he has shown remarkable resilience and determination.

“Both Fiona and I couldn’t be prouder of the way he’s handled himself.

“Over the past year, running has become an important way for him to focus and clear his mind and on Sunday 26 April, he will be running his first London marathon in support of the charity Young Lives vs Cancer.
