ATTEMPTED BURGLARY AT HUNTERS COURT, RICHMOND

Police were called to a report of an attempted burglary at 0211hrs this morning, after a resident reported someone trying to gain entry via the back door.
Officers were on scene within approximately two minutes.
Police were informed the male had made off towards the river area, moving through back gardens and nearby side streets.
With the assistance of specialist dog units, officers identified that the suspect may have injured himself while climbing fences, and a blood trail was located.
A short time later, officers stopped a male close to the location.
He was found to have injuries to his hands and was unable to provide a consistent account of why he was in the area.
The male was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.
