Breaking News: POLICE MAKE THREE ARRESTS AFTER SHOCKING RICHMOND JEWELLERY SHOP ROBBERY

Detectives from the Met’s Flying Squad have arrested and charged three men following a the broad daylight smash-and-grab robbery at a Gregory & Co jewellers in Richmond.
Officers arrested Deniz Mehmet, 28, of Purfleet Road, Aveley, on Wednesday, 8 April.
He was charged on Thursday, 9 April and is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on the tomorrow morning (fri)
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Mather, from the Met’s Flying Squad, said: “Across the Met we are working hard to tackle retail crime, including robbery and shoplifting, as we know the significant impact these incidents have on shop workers and communities.
“We have carried out extensive enquiries into this incident over the past few months and have now charged three people.”
Two men were previously charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the robbery in Paved Court in Richmond, at around 10:34hrs on Saturday, 31 January.
Officers arrested Robert Clarke, 50, of Lever Lane, Rochford, and Lee Ramsey, 46, of Hastingwood Road, Harlow, on Tuesday, 31 March.
Both men appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 1 April, and were remanded into custody.
They are next due to appear at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday, 28 April.
Several eye-witnesses filmed the robbery as shop assistants tried desperately to stop items being stolen from the window displays.
