FIRE BREAKS OUT IN DEAD TREE TRUNK IN BUSHY PARK





Two fire engines attended Bushy Park earlier this afternoon after a fire broke out in a dead tree trunk near Sandy Lane.
Eye-witness Mitra Smith posted photos on the local Nextdoor social media site and said in a social media post: “The fire was in a tree trunk, closer to Sandy Lane!
“I saw it from my flat & ran to see if anybody had reported. A gentleman had already reported! It was amazing many runners & cyclists passed the smoke but did not acts! Flames were very frightening from my window! No smoke anymore but a fire engine is still there!”
A Royal Parks spokesperson said: “We can confirm that there was a fire in Bushy Park yesterday afternoon, which was promptly attended to and managed by LFB.”
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson told Teddington Town: “We can confirm we were called at 1711 hrs and firefighters stayed on scene until shortly after 1900 hrs. Two fire engines attended.”
