Be on the lookup for cashpoint thieves
Flash warning: a local resident has just had £250 stolen following a cash-point theft in Teddington.
Thieves, working in a pairs and described as young Asians have been gathering PIN details whilstand afterwards stealing the card – all whilst distracting the cashpoint user. This occurred at Halifax cashpoints (near Tesco) and they were also operating at Barclays.
In similar thefts, cashpoint users are sometimes told that they work for the bank and offer help using the ‘broken’ cashpoint (whilst memorising the PIN).
