How to Celebrate Your Birthday During Lockdown

Do you or a loved one have a birthday coming up? With it approaching a year since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, it means that most have celebrated their birthday with some kind of restrictions (some will have been heavier than others) and those with a birthday anytime soon are likely to be celebrating with strict restrictions.

Despite this, there are lots of fun ways that you can celebrate and feel close to loved ones while staying safe and, because it is such a unique situation, it is likely that this will be a birthday that you will never forget. So, what are a few of the best ways that you can celebrate a birthday during lockdown?

Virtual Party

Obviously, you will not be able to celebrate with those that you do not live with or are in your bubble, which will be the hardest aspect of a lockdown birthday. You could organize a virtual party over videoconferencing, though, and enjoy a few drinks and games this way which will help you to have some fun and feel connected to people while staying safe.

Gifting

If it is a loved one that is having a birthday then you will want to make a special effort this year and have the present delivered to their door on the day of their birthday. Personalized gifts are always a good option and show that you have been thinking about them, but it could also be something that they could enjoy and use at home during lockdown such as an art set, cocktail making set or luxury bathing products.

Party at Home

You can, of course, celebrate with the people that you live with and a party at home could be great fun this year. You can get all the essential supplies for a party online and then take some time decorating, making food, creating playlists and finding games to play. This is a good option for all, but particularly for smaller kids that will miss their birthday celebrations the most and are likely to be missing their reminds and other family members.

Make Plans

You can certainly have fun on your birthday during lockdown and it could be a special one, but there will always be a tinge of sadness due to the situation and the restrictions place. This is why you could also spend the day making some plans to see friends and visit places when you are able to do so, which will give you something to look forward to.

It is looking likely that everyone will have had a birthday under some kind of restriction as we near a year since the start of the pandemic and restrictions were introduced, but you can find ways to make your lockdown birthday extra special and certainly a memorable one.
