A spokesperson said: “We are deeply saddened to hear about this incident where a swan has been injured in a suspected dog attack.
“The injured swan has been taken to the Swan Sanctuary.
“We wish to remind all visitors of the importance of controlling their dogs at all times. We would also like to remind all visitors to Bushy Park and Richmond Park, that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times during deer birthing season, from May 1 to July 31.”
The swan is ‘doing as well as can be expected’ and is being treated with anti-biotics and will be checked by the vet again tomorrow (thursday)
