CAFE BENEDICT TAKES OVER CAFE IN RADNOR GARDENS

The owners of Cafe Benedict in Teddington’s High Street is extending its local business ‘empire’ to open a ‘charming’ new riverside cafe in Radnor Gardens in Cross Deep, Teddington Town can exclusively reveal.
Ben Phillips, who owns Cafe Benedict, the Parsnips cafe next door and the Parnsips Deli, plans to take over the empty cafe, previously called Antipodean and owned by an Australian chain, and will relaunch it as The Strawberry Patch as a tribute to its location in Strawberry Hill.
The cafe, which could accommodate twenty two customers, closed down in March 2023 and had been targeted by vandals on various occasions but its attractive position on the riverside and next to a children’s playground makes it a big favourite for young families.

Cafe Benedict owner Ben Phillips said: “Nestled by the riverside and next to the children’s playground, it promises to be a welcoming, family-friendly hub serving delicious toasties, fresh cut salad, smoothies, and soft serve ice cream made with Jersey milk.
“With a playful, affordable menu built around seasonal local produce, it’s designed for all ages and open year-round.
“Sustainability is key, with compostable packaging, green deliveries, and zero food waste goals. Created by the team behind Cafe Benedict & Parsnips in Teddington , The Strawberry Patch will bring fresh energy and community spirit to the gardens.”
It’s understood final discussions are underway about acquiring the lease and the cafe will open in the next month.
