LOCAL SCHOOL RENAMED FOR NETFLIX SERIES
Waldegrave Girls School in Fifth Cross Road, Twickenham, has been temporarily renamed as Hollybridge Secondary School for filming of the second series of the Netflix show Geek Girl, Teddington Town can reveal.
The large sign outside the school shows its new name and bright pink signs direct filming vans and crew vehicles to the school’s playground. The filming is expected to last another week.
Geek Girl is a teen drama TV series based on the 2013 young adult novel of the same name by Holly Smale and centres on an awkward teenager called Harriet Manners and played by Emily Carey who unexpectedly becomes a model.
Emily, 22 starred in Casualty as a child actor and played the young Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. It also stars Sarah Parish.
