STUNT-LOVING LIB DEM LEADER TAKES TO THE WATER TO HIGHLIGHT LOCAL SEWAGE CAMPAIGN
The Liberal Democrat’s stunt-loving leader Sir Ed Davey is expected to bring his sense of photo hungry fun to the local campaign to stop the Teddington Sewage Pump, we can exclusively reveal.
Campaign organisers from SOLAR ( Save Our Lands and River) are hoping Sir Ed will take to the water on Friday morning and support local Lib Dem MP’s Sarah Olney and Munira Wilson.
The media event is due to take place on Friday morning between 9am and 10.15am near the Burnell Green space on the Ham side of the river and opposite The Lensbury.
The period of public consultation over the controversial scheme which will pump treated sewage into the river ended in August 26th but has captured a massive wave of support and anger towards Thames Water.
One organiser said: “We need as many as we can get to support them. Bring yourselves, your banners, your furry and non furry friends. We’ve got a prime slot right after the Lib Dem conference. All a bit last minute .com but a great opportunity for us.”
