CENTO UNO ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN TEDDINGTON’S HIGH STREET CLOSES DOWN

Teddington’s Cento Uno Italian restaurant closed with blinds down on Saturday night
Despite its prime position Cent Uno faced tough competition
Cento Uno opened under the same management as the fine dining restaurant One One Four which closed because of changing eating patterns post COVID

The popular family Italian restaurant Cento Uno, opposite the King’s Head pub, has closed down and been sold, Teddington Town understands.

Cento Uno  opened in August last year and replaced the fine dining restaurant One One Four, which was also owned by local entrepreneur Sam Berry but struggled against economic  challenges and the decline in demand for fine dining.

The restaurant, which specialised in pizzas, also faced strong competition in the High Street, especially with Piazza Firenze just a couple of doors away, The King’s Head pub restaurant and Cafe Benedict.

The Surbiton branch of Cento Uno in Maple Road remains open and is celebrating World Pasta Day today (sunday) with an offer of Bottomless Lasagne from midday today.

Bottomless Lasagne on offer at Cento Uno, Surbiton from 12pm today

Teddington Town understands Cento Uno will reopen as an Italian restaurant under a different name with new owners.

In an earlier social media posting the restaurant was described as a ‘chic restaurant for sale in Teddington with two extracts systems and seating for 50.”

It is described as “ideal” for pizzas and other cuisines.

The leasehold was available for £120.000 with rent of £63.000 or £5250 per month.

In the advertised details the business is described as: “The chic & prominent corner restaurant is fitted out to a high standard and boasts plenty of character and natural light.

”It is arranged over the ground floor only and features a stunning central bar with 17 bar stools, along with an additional 50 covers for more formal dining.”
